Acer AspireRevo R3600

By Rory Reid

The AspireRevo R3600 is the best nettop we've seen so far, thanks to an Nvidia ION chipset that means it can play games, run 1080p movies and be taken seriously as a media centre. Also sporting a cool design, it's great value for anyone who needs a ...

Relatively strong graphics performance ; cool exterior design

Small hard drive ; wired mouse and keyboard

The Acer AspireRevo R3600 is the most versatile nettop we've tested to date. Aided by its Nvidia ION chipset, it's capable of playing games and running 1080p movies. Ultimately, it's very good value for anyone that requires a cheap second PC

The Acer AspireRevo R3600 is the first nettop to ditch the traditional, and ageing, Intel D945G chipset in favour of a newer, trendier Nvidia ION package. This, we're promised, gives the R3600 the ability to run 3D games and play 'Full HD' 1080p video...

Acer Revo R3600 review - PC reviews and video

By stuffmagazine

The Revo is the first low cost PC that couples Intel's Atom with NVIDIA GeForce talents. Is it more than the sum of its parts?

Smooth 1080p playback. Cheap. Plays games

Vista sluggish. Noisy. Terrible stand

Acer Aspire Revo R3600

The Acer Aspire Revo is a "nettop" - a tiny, low powered desktop with 1 or 2GB of RAM and a 160GB HDD, plus Wi-Fi and ethernet web connectivity. Although it's powered by a lowly 1.6GHz Atom processor, NVIDIA's Ion chipset and a HDMI port means it'll ...

We tested the cheapest £150 version of the Acer Aspire Revo with 1GB of RAM, and even it was more than up to the task of chucking out video: hook it up with your media centre software of choice and a wireless keyboard and you can kiss goodbye to your ...

There's no optical drive so if you want to play DVDs or Blu-rays you'll have to pony up for an external one to plug in, and despite the myriad of ports shoved in every side (6 USB slots, no less), there's no DVI, so for modern monitors you'll need an ...

Any problems with the Acer Aspire Revo come down to the Atom chip tucked away inside. It's measly at most things. But it's also what brings the cost down, and when it still handles video so well, you've got a bargain that David Dickinson would give up ...

Acer Aspire Revo R3600 review

By Barry de la Rosa

The Revo is a diamond-shaped box about the size of a hardback book, and is designed to sit upright on a clear plastic stand that you clip to its base.

Small and quiet, the Revo will play HD video and has WiFi, eSATA and a card reader. If you don't need peripherals, it's great value.
